Using descriptions to break-up job requirements

Breaking up each quote into smaller segments makes it easier for both yourself and the client to understand the requirements for each project. Being able to provide your client with an in-depth summary of the project and all services, materials, contractors and requests, will highlight your experience and understanding of the project requirements.

It will also allow the user to confirm the project summary, so it is best to provide a step-by-step break-down that is easy for them to understand and to enhance communication. This can be done easily by separating large projects into smaller tasks, for example – an entire bathroom renovation into smaller jobs including tiling, waterproofing, shower, cabinet installation etc.

Use QuoteUp to provide clients a break-down of each job. Start by tapping on the “Add quote detail” tab to provide the content for Detail 1.

You will then be taken to the “Quote Detail 1” screen, there you can add the following information:

  • Photo: Add images from your gallery if you have already taken images or you can also take new photos of the job requirement. You can markup both these image types and provide each image with a title. For more information on image mark-ups, visit Mark-up images with QuoteUp.
  • You can now also add documentation in several formats including PDF, Excel and Word documents. These  could include diagrams, plans and important documents relating to the job.
  • The client will have access to all of the attachments and will see it broken down in their quote.

Next, you can add the “Job Title” and Job Description”. You can split your details into different jobs as per your requirement. This could be per room, per trade, per job requirement.

Once complete, tap “Save Details”.

Your first detail has been saved and the tab is available for you to access again to edit the job title and descriptions, add or remove images or documents and even remove by swiping left.

To add another detail, simply tap the “Add another quote detail” tab, to get started.

Continue to add the required photos, documents, job title and job descriptions to the quote detail.

Once you have added your quote detail, simply tap “SAVE DETAILS” to continue.

You can add as many quote details needed.

And don’t forget you can preview the quote by tapping the menu on the top-right of the screen and then tapping “Preview quote”.

Swipe left if you would like to delete a quote detail.

If you are happy with the amount of detail provided, simply tap the “NEXT” button at the bottom to continue.
